left in the boot floor due to a previous owners rear end prosthesis aka a tow bar. Suggestions for long term rust prevention and leak protection gladly received.

I find Kurust quite good, but apparently the ultimate in rust treatment is Bilthamber.

Bilthamber looks good. i suppose the mastic or electrox aerosol would be the first choice. Too many choices on http://www.bilthamber.com/search-products.php?cname=Corrosion%20Prevention#

Kurust seems to be treatment for surfaces with rust, mine seems clear of any rust, would this then provide any benefit?

Like the tiger seal idea. Especially as it would be more waterproof than just a rubber bung.

Or perhaps, Bilthamber aerosol, then bung, topped with tiger seal??? Hmmm, I like that idea.  :)

I thought bilthhamber was supposed to be kept away from rubber, as it sofens it. i could be wrong though.
