After Market CD
« on: 26 March 2011, 18:19:59 »

Installed my after market cd player in my mates pre facelift cdx r'reg auto 2.5 td omega.

Brill everything works, including the bluetooth hands free thing, that's brill!

When the CD player is switch on, half of the display disappears on the LCD, it did in my old Omega and I know why that is, it's because I need to buy a wire from halfords for £15 to that the steering controls work etc.

When I purchase this wire, can I pressume that the info displayed on the cd player is transfered to the lcd display, as well as a phone number when someone calls?

IF it can...

you will need a display and remote adaptor, not just the remote one

Well, if its like the BEAT 275, it looks Chavtastic :P

I think you've got more chance of pulling your foreskin up over your head to keep your ears warm than getting that PoS to work with Omega display.

Never called you a chav  [smiley=kiss.gif]

I just looked at your link earlier - www.beat-audio.co.uk - and thought they looked best suited to Saxos with undercar lighting and catering baked beans tins weld to the exhaust. Chavtastic.

So can I presume that fitting the steering control wire to the back of the stereo won't put any info on the lcd display?

You would need to contact the head unit manufacturer to see what adapters they provide for Vauxhall Omegas.  I'm guessing the answer will be none.
