What's better full synthetic or semi ?

Fully Synth only of use in very, very high performance engines. V6 Semi Synth is fine.

4.8L for 4 pot oil changes, 5.5L for V6.

Oh yeah 5.5L....thats where I got the 6L from, when I checked it out I remember thinking I would have to buy 6 litres as 5 wouldn't be enough.

Ken.Join Autobahnstormers for £20 and  they will send you a Vauxhall trade club card. You can then buy 20 ltrs of VX 10-40 semi for approx £35 as already mentioned. This oil is absolutely fine for your engine and at thet price can be changed at around 4,000 mile intervals ,which is what the experts on here reccomend.Same goes for the filter, approx. £1.50 on trade card and can be changed every 4,000 with the oil.Use what plugs you feel happy with but my VX (Bosch) plugs have done over 30,000 miles and given no trouble.
The trade card also allows you to buy many other parts at very low prices, worth every penny. :y

As Tunnie said,no advantage in paying the extra for fully synthetic, waste of time in a standard road engine tbh.I use VX semi in my bike engine without problems and it regularily revs to over 13,000. ;)

Yeah Albs I do intend to join The ABS, got a lot of expense tho' at the moment...on a tight budget, but all points noted, thanks.
Be careful using car oil in a bike engine, the majority of bikes have a wet clutch, ( runs in the oil) and car oil has anti-slip properties which bike oil doesn't because of the clutch, you should really only use bike oil in a bike.

According to Mark DTM,VXsemi doesnt have friction modifiers added so it shouldnt cause any problems.I think a lot of bike specific oil is snake oil really,4 ltrs of semi synth for about £30.A total rip off imo. :y
