hi rick
just cleaned it but the trouble is the car can run ok like it did  last time this fault occurred months ago.
I have took pictures of sensor and i have the part number so hopefully cleaning it has sorted it.

tbh if it was me i would not want to be buggering off to France with a dodgy cam sensor. Would have a word with your vx parts dept. and see if they will let you refund it when you get back if you dont need it. If it plays up in frogs vil miles from your nearest stripey t shirt on a bike itll cost you a bloody site more than 60 sobs.

Apologies to our nearest european friends!

Depends really on how dirty it was.  When I cleaned my sensor last (over two years ago now with no recurring fault) it had oil on it and its mating face was dirty so it makes sense why cleaning it helped.  Did  you reset the light at all or did it immediately go out on restarting?  Also did it fire straight away or did it still need some persuasion?  The only thing that puts me off saying it will definitely be fine is the fact that you're going to France.  Could be real blow if it packed in over there.

get some codes, sounds like cam sensor. Do you have problems starting when warm? (lots of cranking)
Do you mean cam sensor or crank sensor?
