More iPhone woes
« on: 06 October 2016, 20:13:29 »

My iPhone 5s has recently updated itself, which is annoying anyway, as when I switch on, instead of the login screen other rubbish appears, which takes me some time to work out how to remove it. So I thought I would uninstall the update, and carefully followed instructions gleaned from the support site, only to find that, having backed it up as required, I have now locked the update in, and the backup is of the updated phone.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
Bugger bugger bugger. Oh well, I will just have to live with it.
Next, the first time I took a picture with the updated phone and plugged it into the PC to add it to a folder, nothing happened. Prior to the update, I was offered a menu to import pictures from the phone, now, nothing, no indication on the PC that it is even connected!
I f...ing hate Apple products, they always think they know better than you. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Turns out you have to switch off AV programmes before it will recognise the phone.  :y

To speed up opening, and get rid of the press home to open (as swipe to open is now gone)....

Use general, accessability, home button, rest finger to open.  Will now open as it reads your finger print.

Pressing the home button doesn't seem to slow me down at all on my iPad. In fact, it's quicker.

Not an option on mine, just default/slow/slowest.

Been offered I Phones several times on both work and personal contracts and always glad never took them as my phone.

A few peers did and for the most part regretted their choice of phone

Fortunately, we're still stuck on 8.  And that's awful enough :).

I think you'll find Mr Gates left ages ago to concentrate on his charity stuff.
