mv6 suspension
« on: 24 June 2015, 03:03:02 »

i have a 52 plate elite v6 omega and im wanting to replace shocks and springs to late mv6 spec.

but when i search for shocks all that come up is v6 shocks or 4cyl shocks.. no mention of being specific for mv6.

now i know mv6 shocks and springs are different to every other model as there stiffer..

so what shocks do you buy is it only vauxhall genuine stuff which will be to spec of original Mv6????
or is there an alternative and same with springs

Shocks are standard, springs are different...

But if you want to go aftermarket... Bilstein B4 all round, B6 if you feel flush and wish to go all sporty ;)

NoS is your only chance for springs as they have been NLA for a while. Be prepared to hunt all around Europe for them.

On the pre face lift yes. Apparently.

However the face lift gets lowered sports chassis. 15mm lower etc and affects shocks and springs, both specific to the sport and mv6.

They are GM only, as the mv6 was never produced in such numbers to warrant any after market manufacturer making them to that spec.

Availability? I haven't needed them for ages but other posts here suggest saloon are na.

So your probably looking at after market lowering kits and the world of set up issues and raising the rear back to no more than 20mm drop to get it within spec.

Self levelling shocks will work with any spring rate though so that might help?  Although not sure how much drop they will take. 20mm shouldn't be an issue though.
