His name is Nick and his contact details are:-
Mobile - 07709 311365
Email - reading@coolcaraircon.co.uk

I was given this guys name by a chap on here a while back. I never used him but was told very good. I have just looked at his area of coverage and is just outside camberley but you should be able to arrange a meet.

Hope this helps :y

Thanks. I'll give him a call  :y

There's a place in Aldershot I used a couple of years back for the Jag and they were good and cost-effective.

I will try and get the details later on :y

So called Vehicools today, £50 for a re-gas, £85 for a gas and diagnosis on a leak. (around 1 hour)

Good deal?  :-\

You could also try Vulcan Motors in Sandhurst, used them a few years back system worked a treat until recently when the LP valve gave up, believe it to be a tyre valve stem. Must replace it and HP while I'm at it.

That's thing, most places are tyre shacks or garages with just a bottle to top them up. Hence a proper aircon only place is needed.

Think will ring them tomorrow :)
Virtually all will use the automated machines to vac, hold, inject PAG and R134a

So not worth specialist? Need someone to identify why it fails though  :-\
If done properly last time, it should have had dye in it.

So when it gets dark, and LED worklamp should highlight any leak.  Places to check are bottom of condenser, valves, joing between condenser and engine bay pipework, or the metal pipe going up the chassis leg.  These are the more common areas.

If you can locate it, replace the part DIY, send it in for a refill at a decent place, job jobbed.

KwikShit did it last time, as they had a cheapo offer on. Thought fixed leak last time, 99% green dye is in it. Will check tonight if I can find the right torch, if not I'll buy one Omegaman posted up  :)

Ah, I had kwikshite do mine about 4 times in 3 months about 3 years back. Then it went to somebody who had a grasp of AC, and it stayed working for about a year (until the compressor disintegrated - you might have been here when Mrs TB turned up after work stating it was "making a funny noise and was blowing warm air").

Which reminds me, I really, really, really should see if anyone has a spare compressor ;D

There's a chap by us who's very good but last time I got Serek to do the 2.6 (I'd fitted a new condenser to it) he replaced both valves and did a thorough job of vacuuming the system (longer the better I believe) and regassed it. Still working perfectly 12 months later. I never turn it off as it keeps the windows clear.

I'd visit serek, but that's a bit too far. Tempted by the mobile guy, as air con is also he does.

These were the chaps who did mine:

Although they were not dedicated to aircon, the chap in question appeared very competant.  Recharge on the XJR was about 60 notes with the vodka and tonic.
