I think you mis-read, Chris, if you are referring to my post. I said, you get a reduction if paying by DD. As an example, BT charge £24 more if you don't pay by DD. Some energy companies are charging up to £390 a year more if you don't do a monthly DD. Just a sample.
The government ordered an enquiry into this in February.
