MOT and exhaust question
« on: 24 May 2008, 15:30:19 »

OK, I took my mig for her MOT today, and she passed :)  However, I did ask the tester if there was anything to note.  He said that some parts of the exhaust system were starting to deteriorate.

This led me to start thinking about a replacement exhaust.  Who makes a nice aftermarket exhaust system?  I don't want anything with a ridiculous tailpipe, I kind of like the rounded square slash cut one that it already has (apologies for the awful description!!).

Has anyone put an aftermarket system on and had any nightmares or stories to share?

Ta!

Look around for an independent place local to you. Ask the boy racers or your local motorworld or equivalent shop. there will be a place.
In Lincs. we have Rebel Powerpipes. You take your car in, tell him what you want & he'll custom make & fit it for you, stainless steel, lifetime guarantee, ie any minor adjustments needed, just take it back. Not as pricey as you may think & they'll make the rear box (or boxes) as loud or quiet as you like. :y

If you want it quiet and refined, stick a genuine one on. about £230 from TC

Yup, quiet and refined is what I would like :)

I am just curious about different styles, materials etc.  I fancy one of the twin exit exhausts, assuming I can get the bumper/valance to match :)

TC?

£230 for one bit or a system?

Although it's fairly new, I'd still like to replace the aftermarket tosh that's tarnishing the driving experience of my newly acquired CDX. If I can get a genuine set for not too much I'll do it sooner rather than later.

Try these people, they will do you a nice Stainless Steel exhaust in normal or sport (no middle boxes and cheaper)
