Omega gear indicator comes on at 55mph
« on: 17 May 2013, 11:37:13 »

I have a 2000 Vauxhall Omega 2.0 16V GLS. At speed of about 55mph, it develops a selection problem and the gear indicator light comes on. Such times, I stop the car. When I restart, it is fine. I travelled a distance of over 400 miles at 80/90 mph and i didn't experience this unless for a few times I exceeded 100mph. Need your advice, please. Mo.

Assume you mean the Autobox Symbol lights up on the TID display, if so, its flashing an Auto gearbox issue, check gearbox oil level and or replace would be my first call.

Any codes coming up with the Paper Clip Test?
