I remember when a Presto was opened in Blyth, Northumberland when I was a mere boy (that was along time ago)

It was allowed to open on Saturday

Nope,its a PLC and therefore its ownership (to some extent at least) changes hour by hour,day by day.Even if it was Jewish owned,its shops would still be subject to Sunday trading laws.

I would vote for that.A day of rest from bloody shops.
Most of the country now seems to lack the imagination to do anything more than spend the weekend wandering around DIY shops and garden centres,very sad indeed.

On Sundays I don't go near a shop, it's not compulsory.

I go to a shop to buy a paper evry morning.Apart from that I rarely go near them from one month to the next. I hate shops.
