I would always pick a 2.5 over a 2.2 !

It does seem to have a very high milage, is it going very cheap?

It's up for £1800 but like I said there's little to compare against. 155,000 miles is a lot to me but the new drivetrain is only 37,000 miles old. Not sure..

Mileage is 155k, normally that would put me off but it has bills for an engine/clutch/gearbox replacement at 118k (main dealer supplied) - it's a CD

That's ok, just sold a four pot VAG diesel (Fabia VRS) so used to rattly start ups..
Any ideas what these are fetching these days? Had a look in all the usual areas and there's a pretty wide set of prices so doesn't help much

2.2 dti 2001 model. What's the view on the engine, is it better or otherwise than the 2.5td I owned years ago? Looks like a nice one and it's near me, just unsure whether fuel bills will be a little high..

Newbie Welcome Area / Quick Hi!

Hi all, quick hello

Had a mig CD estate 2.5TD many moons ago, still rate it the best car we’ve owned. Now need more space again so looking for another, not sure whether to look for the Beemer engine again or the newer Vauxhall lump but sure I’ll find plenty of advice on here!

Thanks and speak soon..

No chance of points unless they're really upset with you  >:(

Worst case is a VDRS, defect sheet - 14 days to rectify and whatever the MOT garage charge to stamp the ticket. (was about £3.50  years ago)  :y

I smoked fro 18 to 40, up to 40 a day

Gave up 18 months ago with the help of Niquitin Lozenges, only thing that did it for me - That and getting out of breath so fast playing footie with my boys

Do it, it's not easy as some say but the benefits are huge. I can run around with the lads, smell things I didn't notice before (herbs in the garden) and have a sense of taste back I didn't realise I'd lost.

Set a date, work towards it and put a good portion of the money you've saved aside and treat yourself - don't let it just disappear to other commitments ( I paid for my Ducati partly through doing this)

Be determined, but don't stop till you're ready. Good luck

ps You'll get fat  ;), but that comes oof

Did'ya see that, i did a gag  ;D

Eleven hours off since 0700 Thursday and now I'm back in again  :o. At this rate I'll be buying the miggy I want, long as Mrs g00ner doesn't spend it on a holiday
