Omega Electrical and Audio Help / immobiliser receiver not working

Hi everyone,i have 94 2.0l omega.I recently had immobiliser problems and had a new key made with newer style fob by Autolocks,reprogrammed worked fine.Although this cost an arm and a leg,i thought my problems were over ,not so.Autolocks came out again and said this time the ir receiver had gone down,small unit in the roof under a small dome.I have tried everywhere to obtain one,but seems they are discontinued.Is there a way of bypassing the ir receiver?Been without car now for 3 weeks.Would be eternally grateful if someone could help,thanks jon.
