The diff broke on my 3L years ago .
The symptoms started as a faint clicking/knocking sound abit like a stone stuck it the tyre tread.
The noise got louder and i noticed the car wouldnt move unless driven ( wouldn`t roll up or down slope/hill)
When jacked up none or the wheels would rotate by hand.
Removed the diff and found the CV shaft was stuck in so had to buy a driveshaft aswell.
Replacing the diff wasn`t the hardest job in the world  but the torx bolts holding the CV to the hub were very corroded.

Hiya
I just refitted a pioneer  MVH-AV270bt touchscreen unit into my miggy
I got it from halfords priced £130 which is the cheapest I`ve found it anywhere plus I had some Halfords gift vouchers so at £100 that was the deciding factor.
I went for pioneer because they have always been trouble free in my experience.
Its mechless ( no dvdv/cd) it takes usb and aux plus bluetooth. Its more for ipod but it doesnt seem to like my samsung although all the write ups suggest it should do, it does charge it though
my single din unit works fine with my phone and looking at the higher spec pioneer units they should also work with smartphones
I went for the mechless because like my other single din units the unit chassis is half the depth but unfortunately it is just as big so if I could of got the spec with dvd/cd at that price i would of .
The expense of getting the rear camera fitting parts plus patch lead were nearly  as much as the unit .
The double din units on ebay do look nice have more features plus sat nav and are a good price but I like pioneer.
I have taken some photos and when I learn how to post them on here I will

Hello
I`m in the middle of installing an aftermarket stereo and noticed a rubber pipe which blew air out when I turned fan on. I tried to find out where it should be coupled up to when the sod came off and now i have no idea where it should go.
Its obviously part of the heater system.
Does anybody know where it should go and couple up to?

I`ve never decatted a car.
The MGZT was just remapped and loads of power never touched the cat.
Maybe I`m wrong but wouldnt removing the cat make the exhaust louder?

Hello All
I`m thinking of having my 2.2dti remapped.                                                                                                I would like some input from members who have had this done on the miggy
Recommended companies and approx costs please.
I`m in the northwest
I`m happy with my miggy but would just like a bit more power.
I`ve looked on the net and the increase seems to be around 25bhp which would be great.
I had my MGZt cdti remapped ( extra 30plus bhp )and the results were fantastic apart from the big clouds of thick black smoke from the tailpipe when flooring the pedal.
ps
I know I`ve mentioned bhp and not torque only because I`ve not got  the figures to hand.
 Look forward to hearing peoples views and thoughts on this

Its just turned up !!!!!
Took it for a test drive and drove like a dream.
Now need an extra key and sort the rear arches out because they are just starting to go but still very happy

sorry i`ve moved.
its very hilly up here and a rear wheel car plus snow doesnt give me any kind of confidence in driving the 30 odd miles to work.
Although i made it 90% of the time.

Hello All
Well i just couldn`t keep away.
In a moment of madness without test driving it or seeing it in person I`ve just bought a 2.2 dti miggy off the internet.
I`ve had an Elite 3L and a 2.2dti CDX in the past and was very impressed on how comfy they are but because of where i live i needed a fwd car.
It was cheap enough to take a chance on and i`ll use it as a second car .
Can someone please recommend a good code reader?
Years ago a very nice man off this site turned my airbag warning light off with a code reader on his laptop.
I`ve just had a look on bay and there seems to be a few decent ones.

forgot to mention
the crank pulley is prone to separating and the outer part falling off!
£80 part and provided you can crack the crank bolt  its not too big of a job

i had a 2.2dti cdx saloon, all leather with the sunroof, owned it for over 2years, wish i still had it, took me a year to get it how i wanted it.
replaced all discs and pads, seats doors cards, doors, ( same job as all other omegas)
i replaced the turbo which was easier than i thought, it had a whistle and didnt boost as good as it should of done
replaced glow plugs the warning light stayed on for a few seconds after engine was started because they were knackered
replaced a washer from the oil feed to turbo, think this is a common fault and makes it look like the turbo is faulty or cracked
the 2.2dti responds well to an oil and filters change.
all in a great car but then i`ve never driven a lpg 3L auto

By energising the motor with 12v should very quickly open the air flow through it.
just put 12v to it and nothing happened, should i take it as being knackered?
