Theory 2: No names mentioned (Laidback66) Ooooops, that slippd out...... Anyway, someone suggested the air con compressor may be partially siezed thus holding back the aux belt, which would explain the heavyish power steering and lack of cooling?

Lol.....you would hear that....the screaching of the aux belt would be quite a give away!

I would love a go......been up in an Extra 350L stunt plane with Brian Lecomber which was prtty dam awesome......particulalry the fly past 50 feet off the ground after a steep dive followed by the pull up. 90 turns, barrel rolls and stall turn........good job I hadn't eaten much!

No but, the V6 one doesn't with regular coolant changes as a rule.

I seem to recall that the 2.5 Diesel also had an oil to air cooler in one of the wings.

The 2.2 also has a small oil to water heat exchanger on the base of the oil filter if I remember correctly.

Its easy to get hold of an oil to air heat exchanger as they are available as after market parts.

Way to much money.

You have to consider that I bought a 98 White Ex plod Estate in slightly worse condition (failed oil cooler) and much lower mileage with new suspension, exhaust, tyres etc for £425......
