We're all hoping for the best! The prolonged nature doesn't help make it any easier I'm sure, but we all hope for good news this coming week.

Rubens red with shale leather, which is indeed a nice colour combination.
I currently have in a 1982 Bentley Continental Convertible, which is a lovely vehicle...but required in excess of £6,000 worth of work for the last MOT, and this one's actually in good condition. So, as lovely as Bentley's are, an Omega is just as good and more cost effective. I have a 2001 Arnage 6.75, which again is lovely but the spec on that isn't quite as good as a 3.2 Elite. Hopefully I'll see your new acquisition in person at one of the meets  :y

Max, if you need a hand with anything, just let me know...be good to see you again;

Volvo V70 or the XC70 with the 2.4 D5 engine. 5 cylinders, diesel, 185bhp, or the T5 Version with either 250 or 260bhp. It is FWD, or you can be lucky and find an AWD V70, or go for the XC70.

W948 FWL did indeed used to belong to TVP. When in service, there were no mechanical / engine alterations made to it.

Its sister vehicle, W944 FWL is below...

Mercedes-Benz CLK 500 Avantgarde Convertible
AM53 HAX
76,985 warranted miles
Silver
Offered tomorrow at BCA Blackbushe, with a guide price of £5,300.
Convertible's are worth more

There have been CLK 500's with just over 100,000 going for £2,500 in places, so as retail price that's not a bad car at all, but of course with some careful work, you can get a cheaper one  :y

I have a genuine one here Chris, 'OMEGA 2.6 V6' does clearly need new adhesive as it's used. It's yours if you want it  :y

Once again, Tony and Christine provided us all with an excellent venue, and day!
It was good to meet some new faces aswell, and also a big thanks to Al, Andy, Jaime and Rob for the various jobs completed on my car.

Certainly look forward to the next one, and I may even start to think about organising the next Oxford meet  :y

This company has proved cost effective for some;
I would expect the cost to be around £30 for the day

You can drive to a pre booked MOT, from a pre booked MOT to a place of repair and back to the MOT centre for the re test.
The distance is your issue, and if the vehicle is likely to fail, it would not be prudent to drive it 200 miles.
Small issues I would accept, but if the shocks and rear discs are suspect, if you got pulled, it would simply make things worse for you.
Where is the vehicle currently located, what size is it?

Yes, you can drive an untaxed vehicle to a pre booked MOT as long as it is insured, day insurance is sufficient.
Even if the mot garage is 200 odd miles away ? ... I can't really mot it where it is as its most likely going to fail on a few minor things which would need to be sorted closer to home...

This is a grey area. Technically you could, if you took a direct route. I have known for traffic officers to pursue drivers for no MOT/ RFL for these extended journeys though.

For me, my trade plates would cover the lack of RFL, but not MOT.

It is worth bearing in mind, if you were to drive past ANPR you would show as uninsured, lacking MOT and RFL. The vehicle's details would not have been put on the Motor Insurers Database (MID) so it would be crucial to have any policy numbers to hand.

Is it not practical to get the vehicle MOT'd near the collection point?
Personally, I 100% understand it's not desirable as I trust my MOT place without fail, and would be hesitant in using another...but I would not risk driving 200 miles.

You can indeed get 'short term' packages for 6 months, but you will pay a fairly high rate.

I would suggest that it may be more cost effective to buy another vehicle. Once the 6th month term period is over, with a rental you'll have nothing, whereas with a vehicle you'll have some residual value.

For £700, you could buy a 2001 Focus 1.6 that would prove reliable and have residual value when the tome comes to replace it with something better.

If you do wish to hire, feel free to PM me and I can help propose you with a company I use that work well, but they do only hire larger vehicle.

I assume yours is post '06 and is the horrendous £470 odd for the year?
