Anything after 2001 the tax is determined by co2 emissions

anything before you pay the same.

my 3l is £118 for 6 months tax

A 1998 1.6 ford mondeo would also be the same price

Ahh OK, ive never owned a car that is newer than 2001 so hadn't really looked in that much details  :-X

Yep the pre 2001 system is under 1.5 and over 1.5.

that's why I like old cars as you can have a huge car and pay reasonable tax

I've seen some very clean bays on here and wondered what product you use to get all the grease, oil off etc especially on the hoses.

I have some Autoglym machine and engine degreaser and some tins of foam degreaser.

Check over the subframe thoroughly... They have a habit of rotting out very quickly ;)

Yep front ones completely rot after around 6-7 years -mot fail few other things

Wiper motors (front and rear) are extremely fragile. Cost over £200 for each motor. engine management light comes on and stays on for no reason. Extremely difficult and costly to get rid of. the rear brake calipers can seize (about £80 each)

also CVT = fail robs the engine of power
