Back again! Kevin when you say BEHIND the fuse boxes, do you mean take out the fuse box (2 phillips screws) and the three relays are up inside? Can't find the damned things. Checked drivers door pillar switch Rob, operating OK. Drain on battery now 1.2 Amps with neg post disconnected and car been sat in 2 inches of snow overnight!!  :(

Hello again! The same problem this morning. LED on door lock switch on, courtesy lights do not come on when door is opened and electric windows work without key in ignition. When I start the car with the drivers door open the courtesy lights come on! Battery voltage well down this morning.  :-\ :-\

Cheers HKT!
Windows still work for a short while after the ignition is switched off... the led on the safety switch should go out when the steering wheel controls switch off. This might take ten minutes.
But this was overnight when I went out to the car! (unlocked!) This was observed this morning! As Kevin Wood suggested in my last post re: back window defrost/demist maybe my battery charge might be low.  Checked battery with DMM no problem.

Hi guys! after the rear screen problem (which has not happened again) other strange things things are happening. I noticed that the small led in the rear door locking switch on drivers door was lit. Also the electric windows worked without the key in the ignition switch, the courtesy door lights do not come on when doors are opened. Any ideas guys?? TIA  :y

Thanks Kevin! The battery is only 3 months old, a Bosch, so good quality. Is there a relay in the boot area as the noise seemed to come from that area? Of course with the temps up to 12c the demister switches on without any problems.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Rear heated window cold problem!
« on: 14 January 2016, 17:58:15 »
Hi fellow oofers! I have not contributed on this forum for quite some time. However, since the temps up here have taken a dramatic downward spiral ie: -6c last night and double figures forecast over this weekend!
This morning I had to scrape windows and started the old girl up, and switched on both demist and heated rear windscreen. There was a slight noise when I turned on the HRW and it slightly made a difference to the engine revs but would not stay on.
However, this evening when the temps had gone up slightly the problem did not appear!
Any idea chaps?

Cheers

Omega General Help / Rear Springs!
« on: 09 September 2015, 10:28:40 »
Hi Guys! After being over there for 4 months, I started the old girl up, no problems apart from the discs being rusted up again. Took her down the road and gave her an italian tuneup. MOT had run out so booked in. Phone call later saying one of the rear springs has broken again. That must be 4 in as many years. Is there a stronger version out there? as the proper springs seem to be too soft. TIA.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Re: Check Control Fuse
« on: 10 February 2015, 12:41:29 »
Ok! I took fuse 6 out yesterday and the battery voltage is 12.22v today. It would be around 11.5v with the fuse in. Is there anything in the radio/infotainment unit that would use that much power when ignition is off? Maybe one for DaveDND.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Check Control Fuse
« on: 09 February 2015, 12:05:07 »
Hello again guys,

Not too sure if battery is fubard or there is a battery drain. The battery is only 18 months old. I checked the amps on a multimeter and the reading was 0.32 amps on a 10 amps setting on the DMM. I started pulling fuses out and came to fuse number 7 (check control) and the amps went down to 0.02. Is 0.32 amps the correct approximate reading or should the amps be reading zero when the fuse is in?

TIA
