Hello...

As well as a wobbly steering idler at the weekend, my EML went on for about 20 seconds and then back out.....
I did try to connect my Launch diagnostic kit but I'm getting a connection error so, I just did the paperclip test and this is what I get...
12, start of sequence???
19, Incorrect RPM Signal
39, O2 Sensor 1 Circuit Voltage High
73, Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low.
I did this without running the engine, I guess the only one to worry about is the 02 sensor???
Any thoughts?

Are the aftermarket ones known to fail?

Thanks for the replys chaps!
I have had a look and the prices for parts veary wildly!
Is the much, if any difference in quality of these parts?
I would like to replace the complete system but at the prices that All parts are asking, it will have to wait 'til after the new year... :-/

Omega General Help / Steering idler...

Hi folks!

I went on a nice drive yesterday to collect some lovely trim.

On the way back, I noticed a shimmy coming through my steering AND through my seat.
I didn't notice it on the way there or during the week so I though I might've lost a wheel weight or something???

Anyway, I had a look at all the wheel, no sign of a lost weight, but when I got to jack up the front left, I though the wheel was about to fall off!!!

Sure enough, it's the lidler!!!  >:(

I have seen the guide, good work! Looks real easy but, Where do I get one from? EBay? VX??

Hi,
I have just measured the hight of my bumper.
Although the top of my bumper is 18.8" the bottom edge is at 12.65".
My car is lowered -35mm so that makes a standard car 20.3" and 14.15" respectively.

I have worked for some years in a crash test section of a large vehicle development company and in my opinion (and that is all it is) if I had a collision at a speed high enough to crack just the grill on my car, it would never be enough to damage the rear door on the mini bus.

For that to happen, I would think the Omega driver would have significant damage to his bumper, bonnet and lights.

This is of course just my opinion and I would suggest you try to find a helpful Omega owner with a car of the same build specification and take as many measurements and pictures as possible.

I hope this helps.

Good luck.

its all in the prep.  remember most people clean car interiors with silicone polishes and paint hates anything that has sniffed silicone.
dave when you come to do the cards go over to baldock and have a chat with them. :y

Is that the fella I met with the Caddy?
My wife's not too impressed with a hall full of trim but she is looking forward to helping me get rid of all the soft stuff, NOT!!! Lol...
Thanks for your help!

Does look nice indeed!
I think that trying to keep all that cream clean would drive me nuts!

Hi,
I have done this once and do have it on my ever growing list of things to do...
Firstly, did you use a locking kit?
Second, I would go over it again, sometimes thing are so glaringly obvious, you miss them!
Third, have a look in the maintenance guides section, it is in there.

If it was me, I would read the guide, have a cuppa and go at it again making sure it's done to the word!!!
Good luck!  :y

Omega General Help / Re: clicking door

Ive replaced mine , is it true that if the door clicks its an MOT failure now  :-\
WHAT? Is that for real? I know there have been some changes but a clicking door???

Apart from it being annoying i replaced mine as i heard on here that it was an mot fail as the door wont hold open to stop it slamming shut if the bushes are worn  :-\

Different fault .. although not replacing the bushes when they first start making a noise can result in the further failure of the checkstrap mechanism  which rips out of the door, which then won't stay open ..... one leads to the other eventually ....
Now this I get! Noisy check link and it has broken part of the A pillar! I must fix that bugger!!! :-/

Ok, that makes sence but I thought the bushes go in the end of the check link to the body???
