Usually it's 15 days you have to wait before Royal Mail will do anything about delayed/lost items.
Agree the service has gone down hill of late and it's not getting any better even though they will have you believe otherwise.
Can honestly say I am very weary of who I buy off on Ebay and some buyers (off me) are to say the least dopey.
Had one buyer who gave me an address to post to then she moved house, never gave her new address then asked why she had not recieved the packet, dopey or what.

Got a Garmin, it's going to cost £60 to upgrade to the latest mapping.

You can buy  a new Tom Tom for £99 with the latest mapping

It's a no brainer.

One of his items...."Cell plant flower seed trays" ...They chuck them away down at our local nurseries, go help yourself to them.

The route I take to our city centre has always got cars, vans trucks parked on double yellows and sometimes right up against the traffic lights most times of day. It's also a main route back to the local police station, do they ever bother about it, couldn't give a dam even when they are held up by the obstructions.

Have been looking at replacing mine, so yes at a price of around £150 sounds ok if you can get enough made for that price.
Wouldn't splash out £300 though.
Keep the "V" look and as in the pic would do me.

Whilst on the subject, what engine would a 99 (V plate) 2.2 petrol Frontera have in it. Was only looking at one today and thought oh it's petrol not diesel, but then wondered what engine it has, same as Omega?

Around mid 30's MPG towing a caravan, petrol Omega shudder to think if it would get above 15 MPG judging what some get solo.
That's why I have a diesel Omega.

General Discussion Area / Re: would you hand it in?
« on: 18 November 2008, 14:30:27 »
Reminds me of the time I found 2 lots of rolled up £20 notes outside of a money lending business, thought crossed my mind do I keep or hand in.
My instant thought was my job, I was delivering to the company at the time and found the notes on the way in on the pavement just in front of their door. I handed the notes in to the clerk behind the desk, she just didn't seem bothered about it never even asked who I was. I thought afterwards I wonder where that money ended up, and did some poor sod borrow it then loose it straight away.
I told my employers when I returned to the office what had happened, they were equally unimpressed with my actions, make you think though about did the owner of this money ever get it back and what happened to it.

Done that, sadly after I had renewed my insurance.
Saved already on a new camera £12, after the initial £5 fee.

I do believe what they charge you is what they can get away with. Bit like fuel prices really, it's all fixed to rip you off!

I did a price check recently on my house insurance, ok off topic but related. Going through my bank Norwich Union insurance was £60 more expensive than actually going direct to Norwich Union themselves. All my bank did was transfer my call to them for a quote.
Guess which route I took.

He may not drop @ that price but you haggle 6 months tax! :y

Almost ready to jump in the car and drive over to look at that one, shame it's gone.

I've got an Acer, good spec Vista premium, 2GB ram 160GB HD Intel Centrino Duo, 15.4 screen, paid £498 this time last year, Tesco Direct.
Laptops are even cheaper now so have a good look around.
I eventually only paid £474 for mine after receiving my money off coupons from Tesco.

If like me you have so much to do now it seems to pass so much quicker (I'm married, older and own a house, car etc) but when I was younger no ties, time just seem to pass rather slowly. I know what you mean long summer days just doing what you wanted, fat chance now.

Well done, nice feeling when it does pass.
Mine scraped through on 2 advisories a few months ago, front brake pads low, and one rear tyre low on tread but legal.
All the above now sorted.

General Discussion Area / Diesel, not price but what do you use?
« on: 09 November 2008, 16:02:44 »
Just a question on what brand forum members use in there Omega diesel, or any other diesel car for that matter.

Reason for asking is my TD smokes like hell with Sainsburys "City Diesel" but wasn't half as bad on Asda diesel even after having it chipped. I did use the Sainsburys stuff some time ago but stopped using it until recently forced to while the Asda station was out of action.

What diesel burns the cleanest do you think, Shell, BP and Total I'm thinking of using, obviously price permitting.
