There's one being broken for spares on eBay at the moment;

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2001-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-CDX-V6-AUTO-spare-parts-wheel-nut-/180619778471?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a0dc719a7

Failing that a local scrap yard to me, (Chesterfield), has several facelift Omegas in stock. I couldn't tell you the name of the scrap yard, but there's only 3-4 in the area. Google should give you the phone numbers.

No engine undertray fitted?

I took it off to aid changing the oil filter, (although not really needed to), and to give it a clean.

The brackets are visible in this photo.

It will become clear as you put it together... The cable tray bracket bolts onto the front of the plenum just in front of the ICV :y As said, just visible in the photo

Thank you all  :y Figured it out now. Perhaps I should have gone to SpecSavers?

Still can't figure out what the spare bracket is for though, or where it attatches?

Anyone got any tips on what to do with that bracket for the air-con pipe?

Thank you both.

Maybe I'm having a bit of a blond moment, but I just couldn't figure out how the wiring loom bracket attatched to the plenum  :-/ Nope. Thinking about it I still cant figure it out  :-[ Will all become obvious when I start to put it back together?

Just a couple of quickies chaps.

Firstly, the wiring looms cover and it's metal bracket that runs along the near side cam cover, (facelift V6). Where does this bolt into? (picture below with my finger pointing to the offending item);

Secondly I have a spare bracket, and I don't know where it goes?  :-?

I'm 'assuming' that it goes around the fuel inlet & fuel return pipes, (that connect to the the inlet trumpet), but I can't figure out what it actually bolts to? (pic below);

And lastly, (hopefully), is the bracket on the front of the engine, by the engine hoist bracket, that somehow clamps the air-con pipe. I haven't got a clue how to put that bit back together?  :-[

Your very stuck, V6 CDX-er  :y

I have a 2000 W elite auto estate 3.0

I need the rear box and centre sections of the exhaust.

I am hoping to find these 2nd hand somewhere.

Is the saloon and estate the same centre sections?

thanks.

There was a thread on this topic last week sometime. I believe that the saloon and estate centre sections are different.

Before you refit that inlet setup, disconnect the wiring loom for the injectors at the multiway plug behind the passenger side head and re-fit it to the inlet.

When doing so MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE the connectors are fully home (a common fault as you dont need to disconnect the injectors individualy)  :y

Cheers for the tip Mark  :y

It came out pretty easy by leaving all the injectors on the rail, so I'm hoping that it will go back on the same? If not, then I'll try your tip.

Cheers.  :)

The orange gaskets are quite expensive for what they are .. so some cheapskate prat economicaly minded person has used sealant instead of buying the right parts...

:(

Makes you wonder what else has been bodged

:(

Using the Autobahn card I got the orange gaskets, (x3), eight of the 'O' rings that fir on top of the trumpet and two 'O' rings that fit between the plenum and the throttle body for £64 inc VAT.

And when you ask I wonder what else they have bodged? Well, the answer is, so far everything that I have looked at. Whoever owned this car before me, (I'm the third owner), IMO couldn't afford to run it. If you'll excuse my French, everything has been a rather mess.  >:(

There should be 3 orange gaskets on the sandwich plate and no to the sealant ;)

Cheers Pete  :)

I've got the three 'D' shaped, (kinda) gaskets, along with the eight rubber 'O' rings and new greenish coloured 'O' rings that fit between the throttle body and the plenum.

it just through me a little seeing a load of sealant on there when I first took it off.

To add to my woes I went to re-assemble this afternoon after your kind help the other day. All was going well untill I went to fit the new ContiTech aux belt and realised that it was 4mm narrower than the old belt and 28cm shorter  :o  >:(

ECP insist that they have given me their largest belt, (I enquired if I'd been given a belt for an Omega without air-con by mistake), but luckily my local VX main dealer has one is stock for just £2 more than ECP charge.

Alright, that's not so bad, but I really wanted to get the car finished tonight. Suppose I could clean my sunroof switch or drain and re-fill my PAS fluid, but not really in the mood now  :(

Oh well, fingers crossed that on Monday I'm finally taxing and insuring the dam thing. I've only had it since mid October, and in that time I haven't even done 20 miles!

Mounting this induction trumpet;

To it's base between the cylinder heads;

The reason why I ask is because when I took it off some so called 'professional' had smeared a load of bright yellow heavy duty gunk between the trumpet and the base, (now all cleaned off).

I've got a complete new gasket set from Vauxhall, but I'm wondering if it needs a touch of sealant as well, (I was thinking of using the same stuff I used for the cam covers?).

In advance, cheers   :y

 Hardest problem was getting the bolt undone - someone on OOF suggested wedging a strong arm against the chassis and turning the ignition key - this worked when air guns etc failed.

If you join Autobahnstormers, you will get your own card, at £20 you will save quite a bit:-
http://www.autobahnstormers.org/  :y

Well worth it.

Even if you don't expect to be buying many parts, you will save the £20 alone on things like oil, (when buying 30 litres).

Or maybe the OP isn't a trade card holder and needs the parts in a hurry?

Top bloke  :)

He was kind enough to pop round today to sort out the mess I had made of my cambelt change.

He got it all sorted in a little over an hour, and was the model of professionalism. The added bonus was that his rates were very reasonable.

So, Elite Pete; Thank you very much for your help today. It was very much appriciated  :y

So just to check I've read correctly. Two man pedal method with a pipe on the nipple didn't work as there was air constantly visible in the bleed tube to jar.

Then got an easy bleed from Halfords and tried again, no air no problem.

That being the case I wonder if the pipe initialy used with the two man method was not sealed at the nipple end and allowing air in? So the air was not from the caliper at all? Does the pedal feel any firmer now there is no air in the bleed pipe. If not that might confirm it...?

Correct Chris.

99.9% sure that the pipe over the bleed nipple on the first caliper was pushed in properly. Not had time to finish off the last two calipers yet, so don't know about any improvement in pedal feel.

What's confused me a little bit is the huge amount of air coming out of the bleed nipple / waste pipe using the two man method, but seemingly zero coming out when using the Ezzi-Bleed.
