Just bought a 3.2 Elite which is overdue cambelt change, so need to acquire  the tools to do the job.
If anyone has a kit they no longer need at a reasonable price, please get in touch.

Im also interested in a NCDC / CID for the car if I can find a good one at a sensible price.  :y

General Discussion Area / Re: EU referendum debate - Who knew?
« on: 28 April 2016, 12:01:35 »
The fact that we have enjoyed relative prosperity over most of the last 30 years has nothing to do with the EU. It is due to the fact that pre Thatcher the country had been wrecked by militant unions and their puppets in Westminster.
Thatcherism abolished that (at least in the private sector) and the UK economy recovered and flourished very quickly.
I believe it would have been much stronger still if it weren't hamstrung by the morons in Brussels.

By far the most important aspect of the debate is democracy & sovereignty. These have been eroded & given away by politicians who had no right or permission to give them away. That is why they have lied to the population over and over again for over 40 years.
That alone to me, is an inarguable reason for Brexit.
Personalities have nothing to do with it. There are quite a few people with questionable personality traits on both sides of the debate.
You may not qualify as "bonkers" just by being in the remain camp, but you really would have to be bonkers to believe a word Cameron says. He couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it.
He is in the process of pulling exactly the same con trick that Wilson pulled in the 1970,s.
I would recommend that everyone who intends voting, fire up BBC iplayer and watch Nick Robinsons "Them & us."
It is reasonably objective for the BBC, and gives a lot of historical facts on the subject, by those who were involved at the time.  :y

Sorry to sound heartless, but it was bloody ages ago, and no real good can come of it now.

Nobody did anything on purpose, people - rightly or wrongly - did what they thought was best as they could see it unfold.  Lets face it, the root cause was the venue was unsuitable.  But in todays sad society, there has to be blame  >:(

Maybe they didn't before the event, but after the event there was a conspiracy, an organised cover up and a wall of lies which didn't fall apart for over 25 years, and that was what the families fought to unvcover for all those years.
This started while the tragedy was unfolding and was organised from the top of the police force concerned and ran right through the ranks down to special constables, by pressure from their superiors to alter statements to lie about the people who had died, to perpetrate the perception that it was pretty much their own fault.
If a child of mine died in those circumstances I would hope that I would be brave, persistent and dogged enough to take on the establishment and not let up until their lies had been uncovered.
I admire the families for doing what they did, and I hope the officers involved spend years behind bars for the lies they told.

Still a crap ( Crapi) car despite its TV heritage and consequent price tag.
I almost bought the RS2000 (although there were probably 3 or 4 of them) from the same programme in the early 80,s. I wish I had now.  ::)

General Car Chat / Meriva P.A.S. problems.
« on: 21 April 2016, 22:56:02 »
A colleague at work has a nice little irmscher Meriva, which has a problem with the electric PAS .
It suddenly stops working which is apparently quite unnerving.
They have done a bit of online research and aren't sure whether to get the parts refurbed or buy parts from a breaker, but they have been told whichever option they choose, the various parts will need to be calibrated once fitted (or refitted) to the car.
I presume this would need a tech2 session ?
Anyone have any experience of this ?
Tia.
