General Car Chat / New Camaro
« on: 18 May 2015, 18:43:37 »
GM with the new Corvette and now the new Camaro seem to have made a serious effort in upping the ante for the quality, performance and handling in the muscle car marketplace, which is good for consumers.

General Car Chat / New Audi 2.0L engine

It apparently uses a new combustion method to improve power and efficiency. Unfortunately, the article in which it appears could have IMO been much better:

General Discussion Area / BBC Bias
« on: 10 May 2015, 11:34:10 »
Looking at the current BBC news items does England exist any longer or is the only newsworthy part of the UK now the 8% of the population that make up the 'People's Socialist Democratic Republic of Scotland'. Not even any mention of the seat each won by Labour and the Conservatives.

Are the 8% the only payers of the TV tax and therefore the BBC is now the exclusive propaganda outlet for the said republic?

Google "BBC SNP" and there have been 25 stories over the last 2 days, then Google "BBC Conservatives" and there have been 18 over the same 2 days. So the party that has won an election against the expected polls predictions and represents all of the country is less newsworthy than the new Scottish Socialist Republic.

General Discussion Area / Great A10 video

Close air support training missions in an A10. I've always been a fan of the '23mm ruin a tank commander's day Gatling gun'. The video of a couple of Hellfire launches is also interesting.

If are flying to Sweden via Stockholm's Arlanda airport, some of you might be interested in going through terminal 5 on your exit.

Something I have learnt over the years is that to keep politicians honest (I know an oxymoron) you need to engage with them, so they know their voters concerns and views. So how many time have people on here contacted their MP, minister, prime minister or even an international politician (MEP, foreign MP or leader) in the last 5 years.

It is something I have been doing more and more often as it has never been easier in this age of electronic communication.

Never forget they represent and are held to account by us, the electorate. ;) ;) ;)
