Omega General Help / tech2 help needed
« on: 25 May 2017, 18:12:28 »
at the moment I an in Bordon Hants & would like to ask if anyone are able to read any codes etc my mig is throwing up. symptom is the car is performing ok ,  but when I have been on a run & eventually slow down the eml will appear, & I have travelled 150mls +  as I get going again it will disappear. in my own mind I have ruled out the egr as it goes too good up hills, & its ok cruising along at speed. normal everyday running about then I don't usually see it. tomorrow I am at a wedding all day & that leaves only Saturday & Sunday am.

Omega General Help / eml
« on: 19 May 2017, 10:03:50 »
I am travelling down to Hampshire next week, So I would like somebody to check this out for me. if I am driving about locally this doesn't happen  . I can travel along motorways doing any speed 70+ and the eml doesn,t appear as soon as I get into slow moving traffic it appears. limp mode tho engine will rev. then as I gather speed the limp mode is off ., usually the eml is 1/2minute after before that disappears. as long as I don't have to slow right down it runs ok. it seems to me its after lengthy quick speed journeys.  any ideas & is  there any tech 2 ,s in the Hampshire area . its a TDI

Omega General Help / oil change disaster
« on: 16 May 2017, 16:08:49 »
went to do an oof member an oil change. there is a lot of oil around the filter housing which is the plastic type with the nut shaped top so a socket should release it . before I even touched it I noticed a drip of oil coming from the nut area. (the oil had already been dropped. )
I also noticed the nut area looked as if it had once been repaired with an epoxy resin or something. the inevitable happened ., never have I known a filter be so tight & even  with a tommy bar it wasn't moving. no points for guessing what happened , we now need a new filter housing cap . alternatively what do I need to get for using the canister type of filter & where can I get one pronto.

Omega General Help / brake pipe unions
« on: 09 May 2017, 02:04:15 »
whilst doing the brake pipes ( front ) the union to caliper are a standard size so an easy enough job , however the union to abs unit are a different size & I had to use original unions. does any body know what size they are. ( for future reference incase I have to do them again )  food for thought , if I was to do the job again & with these particular pipes only the pipe that came out of the engine bay side were rotten. I wondered if I cut the pipes & put  connecting unions on hence a shorter much easier to handle & not having to disturb the abs pump would be an advantage :-\
