It cost me R6 to replace the two rear break bulbs and now every thing is back to normal.  The filament from one one of the two prongs inside the double bulbs came off and sat on the two adjacent prongs.

No, problem solved.

Thanx for the help :D

Thanks for the advice.  Is there a regular problem area, or could it really be anywhere?  Will it help if I buy one of those testers (I have the 2.2), or will this type of error not show?  I didn't see this type of error codes there.

I haven't had any bulbs changed but have now noticed that one of the rear break lights have gone out and the other seems to be fine but doesn't work.  Obviously scary driving behind me I assume.

Thanks for your help guys, I'm so stoked to see that there are actually a whole community who feel about the Omega the way I do.  It's not a very popular car in SA. :y

Hi all

My car started doing the strangest things.

1. When the headlights are on and I turn the car off, the motor keeps running.  If I turn the lights off, the car switches off.

2. If I turn the headligts on while I'm driving, the car loses all power until I let go of the accelerator and step on it again.

3. The high brack light stays on all the time when the car is on, regardless.

4. The malfunction light comes on every now-and-then while I'm driving.  This seems to make sense as I suspect that there is a malfunction somewhere.

I haven't been able to see any comments like this on other posts so I assume that this is not a very common problem?  As I am in South Africa, I'm not aware of garages around that can attend to this problem.  THe GM around the corner has no idea what the mater is.

Please help. :-/

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / CCR 2006 error
« on: 01 July 2009, 18:26:03 »
My Radio refuses to release the cartridge with my CD's in it.  It also refuses to play the CD's, displying CDC ERROR.  This happened suddenly and without warning with no prelude worth remembering.  When I press the release button, the flap opens but the cartridge does not come out.

Is this just the end of the road for my CD player or can I fix it myself?

Thanx in advance
